OSF

Oxford Scientific Films is an award-winning producer of natural history, science, history and contemporary factual programmes. With offices in London and Sydney, this international company has clearly moved beyond its Oxford origins and its science remit, so our brief was to update the brand, focussing on the OSF acronym. Our strategic positioning: Quality Factual with Diversity gave rise to branding made up of various letters photographed in the built environment. The new identity has now been applied to the company’s corporate literature and website, uniting the London and Sydney offices. To strengthen the concept of diversity, team members chose their own combinations of letters from a bank of images photographed by Keith and Mark of Absolute Zero Degrees and photographer Leo Reynolds, who is a key contributor to all of the books in our Communicating with Pattern series.

OSF’s reputation was further enhanced in April 2009 when it won a BAFTA for its acclaimed Channel 4 Dispatches documentary: “Saving Africa’s Witch Children”.
