OMEGA WALLPAPER FOR THE COURTAULD GALLERY

The Omega Workshops Limited was a radical design laboratory founded in the summer of 1913 by artist Roger Fry, a member of the Bloomsbury Group. Omega Workshops involved some of the most avant-garde artists of the day, and was inspired by contemporary art in Europe at the time. The Omega Workshops created a range of boldly coloured and abstractly-patterned homeware and clothing clothing, and at the time, the Workshops’ Fitzroy Square premises were the only place to find a “Fauve” shawl, a “Post-Impressionist” chair, or a Cubist-inspired rug.

To coincide with Beyond Bloomsbury – and exhibition at The Courtauld Gallery the Omega wallpaper has been specially commissioned, designed by Absolute Zero Degrees.

Available exclusively from The Courtauld Gallery shop.
